US Open: Sania Mirza Out of Doubles As Well

New York, Sep 3 – India’s Sania Mirza’s run in the US Open tennis tournament ended with her losing in the first round of the women’s doubles event.

Sania and Russia’s Vera Dushevina went down fighting 6-7(6), 2-6, 6-7(3) to 11th seeded Russians Alisa Kleybanova and Ekaterina Makarova here Thursday.

Sania was already out of the singles event with a straight-set loss to Russia’s Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova in the women’s singles second round.
