Three More Swine Flu Deaths in Orissa, Toll 22

Bhubaneswar, Sep 3 – Three more people, including two children, died of swine flu in Orissa Friday, taking the total deaths due to the H1N1 influenza in the state to 22 in the past two months, officials said.

The latest fatalities include a 61-year-old man, a four-year-old girl and an one-year-old boy, an official of the state health control room told IANS. All the three died in Bhubaneswar, he said.

However, there has been no fresh positive case reported from any parts of the state, he said adding that swab samples of about seven patients were sent for test Friday and all of them came negative.

During past two months, swab samples of at least 301 patients were tested and 87 of them were positive. At present, only six people who tested positive for swine flu are undergoing treatment in various hospitals, he said.
