I am deeply ashamed by the way Hindu Janta/public has blindly believed the priests....being from a brahim north-indian family I cannot help but decry the ritualistic (99%) approach to religion that is now hinduism. There is no doubt these sacrifices were done with a false belief, totally false. No God or goddess (or demi-gods as modern day hindu scholars put it) need be pleased with torture and killing of a living being - humans or animals. I keep hoping some day the true sense will prevail...till then we keep the faith and watch in horror mankind's follies....... PS Pathetic…. I NEITHER SUPPORT ANIMAL SACRIFICE NOR I'M JUSTIFYING WHAT WE DID IN NEPAL (GADIMAI MELA) WAS RIGHT OR WRONG!! The fact is, that atrocity happened in the open public, hence the loud cry!! otherwise ANIMALS get SLAUGHTERED everywhere in the WORLD, yeah in very HUMANLY WAY!! So what are we JUST HYPOCRITE ??(United States, will consume 45 million turkeys for Thanksgiving alone) Only Difference is those animals were killed in PUBLIC, otherwise THE MEAT will get CONSUMED and THE SKIN will go for LEATHER PROCESSING!!
