Smokey Fans Fuming Over Chaotic Gig
Thousands of SMOKEY ROBINSON fans were fuming on Saturday night (12Dec09) after a ticket mix-up reportedly left them stranded outside a concert.
The soul star headlined a gig in Australia’s Hunter Valley in New South Wales which required many fans to log online to activate their tickets before arriving at the venue.
But many forgot to confirm their attendance, while others claimed the process didn’t work – leaving thousands of gig-goers stuck outside, according to Australia’s ABC News.
One fan tells the website, “I’d say the numbers would be in the thousands, like there would be a lot of angry people.”
Promoter Brad Flowers adds, “A number of tickets were offered to various charities, now these tickets were invalid until they were activated online.”
