Ray Charles Musical Set For Broadway
The producer behind the Oscar-winning RAY CHARLES biopic is bringing the star’s story to Broadway in a musical stage show.
Stuart Benjamin, who spent 15 years working with the late music legend, produced 2004 movie-musical Ray, which won Jamie Foxx an Academy Award for his portrayal of the Mess Around hitmaker.
And now he is bringing the story of the star’s life and music to the New York stage in Unchain My Heart, which was previously staged in Pasadena, California in 2007 under the title Ray Charles Live! A New Musical.
Unchain My Heart will open on 7 November (10), with preview performances beginning on 8 October (10).
