Rahul Gandhi to Visit AMU Monday

Aligarh, Dec 5 – Congress general secretary Rahul Gandhi will visit the Aligarh Muslim University Monday to interact with students and teachers, a university official said Saturday.

Visiting the institution at the invitation of Vice Chancellor P.K. Abdul Azis, Gandhi will interact with students from various faculties, hostels and university-maintained schools at the Kennedy Auditorium from 9.15 a.m. Monday, the university spokesman said.

He will pay floral tributes at the tomb of Sir Syed Ahmad Khan, the founder of the university, and will also meet the university teachers at the AMU Staff Club.

AMU, which was closed for an indefinite period Oct 30 following violent protests over the murder of a student, had re-opened Dec 1.
