ITSchool to Give 60,000 DVDs to School Teachers in Kerala

Thiruvananthapuram, July 13 – IT@School, the Kerala government’s initiative to implement IT-enabled education, has developed a Resource DVD, which will be freely distributed to 60,000 High School teachers in the state.

The teachers would have complete freedom to copy, edit and re-distribute the contents in the DVD, which is prepared entirely on Free Software, the technology arm of the general education department said.

According to Anvar Sadat, who heads IT@School project, the DVD is first of its kind in the country and could be used in any computer or laptop which is available in schools, at home or at various kiosks.
