India, Britain Agree on Civil N-deal

London, Feb 4 – India and Britain Thursday agreed on the text of a civil nuclear cooperation deal that is likely to be signed soon.

The agreement came after a meeting between Britain’s Business Secretary Peter Mandelson and Indian Commerce Minister Anand Sharma.

The two led their respective delegations at a meeting of the UK-India Joint Economic Trade Committee (JETCO).

‘Since the text has been agreed, there is no reason why the agreement cannot be signed next week,’ said Mandelson.
