Champions Trophy: New Zealand Opt to Bat Against Australia in Final

Centurion, Oct 5 – New Zealand stand-in captain Brendan McCullum won the toss and elected to bat against Australia in the final of the Champions Trophy at the SuperSport Park here Monday.

New Zealand skipper Daniel Vettori has been ruled out of the game with a hamstring injury and has been replaced with Jeetan Patel. Australia retained the same side that won the semi-final against England.

Australia: Shane Watson, Tim Paine (wicketkeeper), Ricky Ponting (captain), Mike Hussey, Cameron White, Callum Ferguson, James Hopes, Mitchell Johnson, Brett Lee, Nathan Hauritz, Peter Siddle.

New Zealand: Brendan McCullum (captain-wicketkeeper), Aaaron Redmond, Martin Guptill, Ross Taylor, Grant Elliott, Neil Broom, James Franklin, Kyle Mills, Ian Butler, Shane Bond, Jeetan Patel.
