CBI Initiates Inquiry Against Sexual Harassment Charges

New Delhi, March 4 – The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) Thursday initiated an internal inquiry to probe the allegation of sexual harassment levelled by a woman public prosecutor against the deputy legal advisor of the CBI.

The CBI said that an internal inquiry had been initiated on the basis of the complaint filed by the woman public prosecutor against deputy legal advisor Sunder Lal.

The internal inquiry will be headed by a woman IPS officer of the rank of deputy inspector general of police, who will go into all aspects, including the messages purportedly sent by him on the woman public prosecutor’s cell phone.

The CBI has entrusted the investigation to Delhi Police.

The CBI inquiry would be separate from investigations being conducted by Delhi Police who have registered a complaint under section 354 of IPC (outraging modesty of a woman).
